Employment Now Requires A Whole New Mind
Someone forwarded me a link to this video in which Daniel Pink, author of A Whole New Mind: Why Right-Brainers Will Rule the Future, speaks to a small audience about why the future belongs to a different kind of person with a different kind of mind. That kind of mind Pink describes as “right-brain” thinkers such as artists, inventors and storytellers.
Pink contends that from now on the employment landscape is going to highly favor right-brain thinkers. I’ve done a lot of reading on this topic and others who study the current shifts in employment and the most desired skills sets and attributes of employees and business people are coming to the same conclusions as Pink.
In this video, Pink outlines six foundation human abilities that he believes are essential today for professional success and personal fulfillment.
Check out the video, and then buy the book. Its information and inspiration will serve you well in the coming years as artificial intelligence, automation and robotics changes the world of work in dramatic ways.
